We offer a wide range of PADI specialty dive courses!
Specialty Dive courses
We offer a wide range of specialty courses, which include (but are not limited to) night diver, deep diver, nitrox, wreck diving, underwater photography and search and recovery.
We also train DAN Medic First Aid courses and DAN Oxygen provision, great qualifications for hte non-diver for both work and at home. All courses include equipment hire and use of PADI learning materials.
Many courses are available for divers who hold a scuba certification. We have a large variety of dive sites and equipment available so can offer a great range of continuing education scuba courses. All courses involve short classroom and longer in-water sessions with the exception of the first-aid oxygen courses, cylinder testing courses and the chamber courses, although two dives are done in the chamber. Very cool, but we digress...
Whether you’re a novice or experienced, want to turn pro, or learn a little more about a certain aspect of diving that interests you, we’re sure we can find something for you!
| Drift Diver |
Currents can be a little troublesome at times but there is an extremely fun way to use them to your advantage - jump in and sort your buoyancy out, then ride it! Drift diving enables you to cover long distances effortlessly and therefore make for longer, relaxed, more enjoyable diving. Learn the advantages and hazards associated with drift diving and see what new wonders it’ll open up for you. Some dive sites are only drift dives, so this is a great course for those wishing to dive them! It’s also great for the diver who finds unexpected currents a little uncomfortable because you will learn to control your dive effortlessly while in drift. |
| Wreck Diver |
It’s dark, it’s a confined space, a line and reel is your only way out! How does that sound? This course provides you with the knowledge and experience required to plan and conduct wreck penetration dives. You will be led into overhead environments; it requires great buoyancy, special skills, techniques and equipment. Great for wreck divers who want to look at their favourite dive site from a different perspective. Great for divers who want a bit more challenge in their recreational hobby. |
| Night Diver |
Night diving appeals for many different reasons. Many fish sleep but can still be seen; nocturnal life comes out to play, you’re surrounded by a snug blackness, save the white glow of your torch. It’s exciting and relaxing all in one! Due to colour absorption in surprisingly shallow depths, life appears quite differently during the day. Lots of colour is filtered out by the water due to it being a dense medium. At night, take a nice, powerful torch with you and the light you emit has little chance to disappear - that means lots of colours, more vibrant than you’ll ever see by day. A must for anyone who has not yet experienced a night dive. All those rescue divers out there who haven’t done a night dive yet should book in... A qualified rescue diver could be asked to conduct a search at night, ahem! |
| Kayak Diver | Take advantage of Australia’s natural coastline, and dive in places you normally can’t get to by paddling out for a dive on a kayak! |
| Navigation | Ever been lost ... underwater? Losing your way can be daunting at the best of times. When we are diving this is not different and due to the almost alien environment, added pressures and concerns are not uncommon. Learn how to keep your bearing no matter what the situation with the navigation specialty program. |
| Search and Recovery | The Search and Recovery course introduces divers to the techniques and equipment required for searching underwater and recovering medium to large objects. You’ll learn a variety of differnet search patterns, how to rig a lift bag and how to safely bring objects to the surface. |
| Deep Diver | The deep diver course offers a certification that will allow you to dive to 40m upon completion. You’ll learn how to plan and conduct deep dives, taking into consideration such things as the increased effects of nitrogen narcosis, special equipment requirements, controlled ascent and descent techniques, good buoyancy and increased air consumption. |
| Master Scuba Diver | Master Scuba Diver is a PADI recognition of superior knowledge and skills in the recreational diving field and can be obtained by completing any five specialty courses plus the Rescue Diver course. |
